Voucher Administrator Needed

Stratford Upon Avon Foodbank are looking for a volunteer to undertake a key task; that of foodbank voucher administration. Since its creation in January 2013 Stratford’s Foodbank has fed an average 100 people a month, 20% of which are children. The foodbank works with partners across the town to identify those in need and relies on the help of more than 50 volunteers and one-part time manager to bring this valuable service to the town.

 

Time Commitment

Two to four hours a week. Work can be undertaken in your own time e.g. evenings, weekends etc. Occasional meetings arranged at volunteer’s convenience.

 

Primary Focus

To enter all required information from redeemed foodbank vouchers using the Trussell Trust online data collection system. Vouchers to be input on a weekly basis where possible. Requires a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and accuracy.

 

Requirements

The volunteer would need access to an internet connected computer and have phone and email access.

 

Key Foodbank Woking Relationships for this role:

 

Volunteer Agency Coordinator:

To feedback to the Agency Coordinator on the accuracy of Agency completion of vouchers

 

Front Line Coordinator:

To feedback on any front line staff issues relating to voucher checking

 

Foodbank Manager:

To maintain close contact with Foodbank Manager at all times

 

 

Description of Possible Tasks

  • To collect red vouchers on a weekly basis from the foodbank cabin in Tesco’s car park
  • To input all voucher details (there will be training on this)
  • To ensure vouchers are kept securely whilst in the volunteer house
  • To deliver processed red voucher to the treasurer’s house in Tiddington for secure keeping
  • To meet with Agency Coordinator occasionally for feedback on Agency voucher completion
  • To keep a list of Agencies completing vouchers incorrectly to share with the Agencies coordinator
  • To liaise with Front Line Coordinator as necessary over voucher checking issues
  • To liaise with Foodbank Manager as necessary.

Given the nature of this role there will be an opportunity for the volunteer and foodbank manager to meet and discuss the role and its requirements more fully before the role is taken up. All volunteer applicants will need to supply details of 2 referees. Given the sensitivities of this role only volunteers over 18 will be considered.
