We are very pleased to announce that the Co-op, at Wordsworth Avenue on Trinity Mead, is now hosting a collection point for us. Please feel free to drop your donations of tinned or packet items in there any time they are open (7am to 10pm).
Currently we are particularly in need of:
– Tinned potatoes
– Any tinned vegetables
– Men’s shaving products & toiletries
– Laundry products
– Deodorants
– any ‘bag for life’ bags
The photos below show Co-op Manager Mark Payne with Foodbank Manager Marion Homer.
Marion said,
“Regrettably, we are seeing an increase in demand at our Foodbank – we are feeding an average 298 people a month, which is a 63% increase on the same period last year. Shockingly, an average of 99 of those parcels are going to children living in and around Stratford upon Avon. We often see a dip in donations during the Spring and Summer months so the launch of an additional collection point at this time is hugely appreciated. On behalf the Foodbank I would like to express our thanks to Mark Payne and his team at the Co-op for offering to do this imp ortant work or us.”
