Stratford on Avon Foodbank are extremely grateful to Stratford Football Club for allowing us to launch our Grand Christmas Draw at their Halloween and Firework event last weekend. The draw gives us the opportunity to raise funds for the Foodbank, as we look to move into our new premises having outgrown, sadly, our current base in Tesco’s carpark, which is no longer fit for purpose.
The demand from the Foodbank has grown from providing 86 parcels a month when we set up in 2013 to more than 250 parcels in 2019, such is the difficulty of today’s difficult climate. As things stand currently, demand is likely to increase going forward and we need to be distributing to, and supporting, local people in an effective manner, providing confidential signposting in a way that is becoming increasingly difficult in our current location.
The Grand Draw offers some fantastic prizes including, for example: Spa Day for 2 with afternoon tea and a glass of fizz at the Welcomb Hotel, Family River Cruise, “Air experience at Stratford Gliding Club”, so there is something for everyone. Tickets are £1 each or £5 for a book of tickets. There will be other opportunities to buy tickets up until January 14th, so do look out for our gazebo at different events over the forthcoming various celebrations, leading up to Christmas.
