Caring Nursery Children Help Out

8th October 2020

Stratford upon Avon Caring Kindergarten nursery recently celebrated a special ‘Scarecrow Week’ with all the children. The children also took food items in to nursery which will be donated to Stratford Foodbank. We would like to say a very big “Thank you” to all the children and their families for the donations and for thinking about others in our community who are less fortunate than they are.

All the children enjoyed lots of exciting activities which included creating artwork using different vegetables, sensory play with straw, farm small world play and sensory playdough.
Discussion with some children about what Harvest means led to chatter about scarecrows they had seen. A staff member challenged the children to make their very own scarecrow and they talked excitedly about their ideas. One child suggested they could make masks, another that they could use straw for hair, and one scarecrow was definitely going to have goggle eyes!

Wonderful scarecrows came in from home, along with contributions for the Foodbank, and we add our grateful thanks to those of Caring Kindergarten, to the families for their very welcome support of the foodbank. It is great to see the youngest members of our community learning to share and becoming caring members of society through ways that are fun and meaningful to them.
