After a call for help to restock the depleted shelves of the local Foodbank, Stratford people stepped up to the plate and last weekend during The Morrisons Food Drive donated an incredible 1,338 KGS of dried and tinned food.

This was sufficient to replenish the warehouse and get the Foodbank back on track so that they can continue to provide real support to those most in need in our community.

Marina Dunn, Stratford Foodbank’s Warehouse Manager was thrilled with the results of the drive.

“The shoppers at Morrisons have shown incredible generosity by donating nearly 1.5 tonnes of food to local people in need and we’re grateful to them and the team at Morrisons who’ve been so supportive. Whilst it is a fabulous achievement we must remember that the Foodbank faces a continual rising demand. We still need people to provide their ongoing support both in terms of actual food donations and volunteering to join our busy team.”
