New Trustees for Foodbank

11th December 2020

We are delighted to welcome two additional members to our Board of Trustees.

Lavinia Derrick has been volunteering with the Foodbank for just about twelve months. Her awareness of the work of the Foodbank inspired her to want to  give something back to the community in a meaningful and worthwhile way.

When the opportunity arose, Lavinia volunteered to become a Trustee because she had been so impressed by the work of the Manager and volunteers. She wanted to add her skills to the Board to help continue with this vital work. Lavinia brings a mix of experience to the charity, having worked in both large blue-chip commercial environments and in the not-for-profit sector. Working within both types of organisations means that Lavinia has a varied set of skills and also feels she has diverse perspectives that she can offer.

Lavinia has lived in Stratford for almost 30 years and is married with one son. She is humbled by the generosity and kindness she has witnessed by young and old alike since she began volunteering with the Foodbank. Of her role as a trustee, Lavinia says, “I am honoured to join the Board and hope to be a useful and valuable addition”.

Julie Crawshaw also started volunteering with the foodbank around a year ago and has since been involved on the front line, the MakeLunch project and in the warehouse. In addition, she helped with a couple of strategic documents that the Trustees were developing, which led her into applying for, and ultimately gaining, a position as a Trustee.

After many years building regeneration projects, roads and bridges at Warwickshire County council, Julie has more recently worked with several charities project managing new capital build projects including Shakespeare’s New Place, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and Barford Youth & Community Centre, which has given her additional expertise in governance and fundraising. She is currently working with Warwickshire County Council again to deliver the long-awaited improvements to the Birmingham Road.

Julie lives near Pebworth with her son, dog and soon-to-be-husband.

We warmly welcome Lavinia and Julie and look forward to working with them over the foreseeable future.
