Christmas Cheer for Holly

16th December 2020

9 year old Holly from Exhall, a small village out near Temple Grafton, Alcester has been single-handedly raising funds for the Foodbank.

When she is shopping with her family, they usually pop an item or two into the Foodbank donation trolley, but this Christmas Holly decided she also wanted to raise some money too.

So, the kitchen became a sorting office as Holly advertised her services as a local card delivery person and has, so far, delivered about 500 cards around the village, charging £2 for delivering up to 50 cards. It is clear it has been a valuable service she has offered because most people have been very generous and donated a lot more, as well as adding some great tips. Holly will be doing deliveries up to and including Christmas Eve so there is still plenty of time to add to the current total of almost £90.

Holly’s Dad, Chris, says, “We think you [the Foodbank] are magnificent”. Well, we think Holly is pretty special too.  We would like to congratulate her on her entrepreneurial skills and her kindness in thinking of others, especially at Christmas. It really does capture the spirit of Christmas. Well done Holly from all of us at the Foodbank. Have a great Christmas – and a bit of a rest!
