Listers Win for the Foodbank

23rd January 2021

The Foodbank are, once again, extremely grateful to Listers in Stratford, who have been supporting the Foodbank for many years. This time, however, the funding was a complete surprise to everyone.

Lesley Franklin, at Listers Head Office, received a call from Hannah in the Marketing Team asking if she wanted to nominate Stratford Foodbank for the possibility of winning £5,000. Toyota wanted to give local charities, within certain areas that were local to their dealerships, the opportunity to win funding to support their work through the Toyota 20 for 2020 initiative.

For Lesley, there was no question, as she has been involved with organising fundraising at Listers for the foodbank for eight or more years. She contacted Marion immediately to explain this great opportunity. Lesley never dreamed they would be a winner and was delighted at the news. She said, “I can honestly say it made my year especially as it was a particularly difficult year for everyone due to Covid-19, putting the Food Bank under immense pressure to cater for so many local families”.

Marion, the Foodbank Manager, said“ I’d like to say how extraordinarily grateful I am for the support of Toyota and Listers of Stratford. In the current climate, when things are so difficult and the need for our parcels shows no sign of slowing down, it is wonderful that we have benefitted from this grant”.

We know that Listers care deeply about our work, and winning this grant is somehow testament to how much they have supported us over the years. We are truly indebted to them.
